▶ News Wrap | Crossrail’s Bond Street opening, TfL funding deal and Silvertown Tunnel milestone

this month’s NCE News Wrap is out now, bringing you recent key stories in a quick five-minute roundup.

In September’s News Wrap video, NCE takes a look at what exactly the Department for Transport (DfT)’s £3.6bn funding settlement for Transport for London (TfL) means for some major projects.

DfT and TfL have been negotiating a long-term capital funding settlement for several months and, while TfL commissioner Andy Byford has said the final settlement is “not entirely sufficient”, he does believe it will leave the capital’s transport operator “in charge of its own destination”.

This month’s video also features the news that Crossrail’s Bond Street station will open in November, along with key milestones for the Silvertown Tunnel, TfL’s new road tunnel below the River Thames, and the planned Sizewell C nuclear power plant in Suffolk.

In addition NCE senior reporter Catherine Moore looks into the infrastructure challenges facing new prime minister Liz Truss and her recently appointed transport secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan.
